On July 4, 2023, Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The Prime Minister and his delegation arrived at 1:45 p.m. at the corner of Cora-Berliner-/Behrenstraße. The delegation consisted of Luminita Odobescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Angel Tîlvăr, Minister of Defence, Ștefan Radu Oprea, Minister of Economy, Adriana Stănescu, Romanian Ambassador in Berlin, Dr. Felix Klein, Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, and Rabbi Dovid Roberts.
They were welcomed by Dr. Ulrich Baumann, Deputy Director of the Stiftung Denkmal.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister, his companion and Dr. Ulrich Baumann went to the Field of Stelae, where Mr. Ciolacu laid a wreath. This was followed by a minute’s silence during which all those present commemorated the victims of the Holocaust.
