On 6 May 2024, Dr. Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the Holocaust Memorial together with his wife Mirela Bećirović. They were welcomed by Dr. Ulrich Baumann, Deputy Director of the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and curator of the exhibition, at the field of stelae. The President laid a wreath and observed a minute’s silence together with his wife and the entire delegation. Afterwards, the President of the Presidency took time to visit the exhibition. Dr. Ulrich Baumann guided him and the delegation through the four themed rooms of the Information Place under the field of stelae.
The President was welcomed by H.E. Damir Arnaut, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Germany, Mr. Alija Kožljak, Head of Cabinet of the President of the Presidency, Ms. Hoda Dedić, Adviser in the Cabinet of the President of the Council Presidency, Ms. Hatidža Jahić, Adviser in the Cabinet of the President of the Council Presidency, Mr. Adis Deljković, Adviser in the Cabinet of the President of the Presidency, Mr. Izmir Talić, Minister-Adviser at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ms. Hajra Delić, Counsellor at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Prior to this, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina met Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for talks at Schloss Bellevue.
