The spring meeting of the Working Group for the Study of National Socialist »Euthanasia« and Forced Sterilization in Berlin was organized by the Förderkreis Gedenkort T4 e.V. and the GeDenkOrt. Charité. It was supported by the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Landesverband Berlin e.V. and the Bundesvereinigung Lebenshilfe e.V.
As part of the conference, a ceremony was held on 9 June at the State Representation of Baden-Württemberg on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the working group.
It was welcomed by Irit Kulzk and Dr. Michael Wunder. The Minister of State for Culture and the Media, Claudia Roth, spoke; Jürgen Dusel, the Federal Government Commissioner for the Interests of Persons with Disabilities and the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, Dr. Felix Klein; as well as Susanne Michl, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Uwe Neumärker, Director of the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The keynote lecture was given by Dr. Michael Wunder (Hamburg). The main theme of the conference was “Medical Science under National Socialism and the Culture of Remembrance”.
