Press release of 22 September 2021
The exhibition under the field of stelae of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin will be closed from 1 November 2021 to 13 December 2021 due to necessary technical reconstruction work. The field of stelae will remain accessible to visitors. Guided tours in the field of stelae and at the other memorials are offered unchanged. The digital educational offers also take place.
After 16 years of exhibition operation, over 7 million visitors and repeatedly minor repair and maintenance work, technical conversion work is now required. For example, the projectors are renewed, all screens in the exhibition are enlarged, and the loudspeaker system and the technical applications in the seminar room are revised. In addition, all exhibition boards, prints on the walls and on glass surfaces will be newly produced. The reprinting of the presentation areas is accompanied by small content adjustments based on recent research results or political changes.
